A Win For Honda In Lites

Round three took place at Southwick, MA, one of the most grueling and most beautiful tracks on the circuit.
June 20, 2006

Southwick, MA - In the Lites class, Team Honda’s Andrew Short took his first moto win of the 2006 season after getting by early race leader Mike Alessi (KTM). Short followed up his amazing first moto with a respectable fourth-place in moto two, fighting his way back from a bad start. His efforts garnered a well-earned first place overall in Southwick, and a second place in Championship points. Fellow Honda-mounted rider Josh Grant took fifth with his 8-7 effort.

In the MX Class, Team Honda’s young Davi Millsaps made another great showing, taking third overall with his 4-3 day. Davi seems to be getting more comfortable on the big Honda 450 every round. He fought hard in moto two, sticking tight with Stewart and Carmichael for a few laps. “Actually I was just drafting those guys; that was the first time in three races that I didn’t hit the four lap wall,” said Davi at the press conference. SoBe/Samsung Honda’s Kevin Windham grabbed fifth for the day with a 5-4 moto score. Honda CRF450R-mounted riders Tim Ferry, Nick Wey, Travis Preston and Ryan Clark rounded out the top ten finishers.
